2005
This work was influenced by surfing the net looking at scientific imagery of the universe and outer space. The spectacular explosive flashes of light and colour in these paintings represent the raw power of this scarcely imaginable and infinite environment. Humankind has looked on in awe and wonderment at the celestial scene since his first steps on this planet. The paintings are both figurative and abstract. Some of the work’s titles such as Bios originates from Greek and means Life. This, for me, resonates with the conflict between religious and secular philosophies.
However, the work should stand alone – that it presents itself as subjective as possible to the viewer – that it conveys feelings or sensations that move the viewer to draw their own ideas or associations from the work.
